Project Brief

We worked with the RCN Foundation to create an animation based on Lily's real story.

Lily is a nurse who found herself facing a sudden personal crisis that affected her finances and mental wellbeing. The animation follows her journey from struggling to cope, to finding out about the RCN Foundation's Hardship Grant, and taking the step to ask for help.

Her story shows the real difference that support can make, giving her the stability she needed to get back to doing what she loves: caring for her patients.

Our Approach

Telling a real person's story meant handling the subject with real care and sensitivity. Our focus was on making Lily's experience feel genuine and relatable, something that other nursing professionals could see themselves in.

Creating the animation

Alexandra brought the story to life using a soft, watercolour-based 2D animation style, creating a warm and human feel that suits the personal nature of the story.

The animation gently addresses the stigma around asking for help, reassuring healthcare workers that it is okay to reach out when they need support.

Working closely with the RCN Foundation team, we made sure the animation worked both as an awareness tool for those who may need help and as a fundraising film that shows donors the real impact of their support.
