Bedfordshire & Luton Perinatal Mental Health Service: Breaking the Silence

Project Brief

We worked with the Bedfordshire and Luton Perinatal Mental Health Service to create an animation raising awareness of the mental health support available to pregnant individuals and new parents in the region.

The animation explains what perinatal mental health is, the role of the specialist multidisciplinary team, and how families can access the care and support they need, whether through a referral or self-referral.

Our Approach

Our focus was on creating something that felt genuinely safe, warm, and reassuring, breaking down the barriers that so often stop families from reaching out early.

Artist Jo brought the animation to life with soft, comforting visuals and a calm and gentle pace, creating a visual world that feels like a safe space for anyone watching.

The animation was carefully shaped to reframe the perinatal mental health service not as a clinical intervention. The result is an animation that encourages families to speak up, seek help early, and feel confident that support is there when they need it most.
