NUT Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: Research in Newcastle Hospitals

Explaining the how and the why of a research department

Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust found themselves repeatedly having to explain how and why their world-class research department functions as a key part of the running of the hospital.

Why use an explainer animation?

With this explainer animation, the Trust is able to save lots of time and effort by referring both new starters and potential funders to this beautiful and creative whiteboard film.

The video explains not only how research is carried out but also how the research is great for patient outcomes and more than pays for itself in terms of both new investments and in building a really positive international reputation for excellence.

The artist

We used the artist and illustrator Sam Church on this project – his playful lines delivered the perfect balance between friendly illustration and tightly targeted iconography to show the facts and tell the story in a way that is both fun and functional.
