The Florence Nightingale Foundation: Nursing in a Pandemic

We love all of our clients, but we particularly love it when they are 100% passionate about what they do and the changes they want to make in the world.

About The Florence Nightingale Foundation

The Florence Nightingale Foundation has been providing scholarships to the best nurses and midwives in the UK since 1929. These nurses and midwives then make a difference in patient care, policy and practice in their chosen fields.

The Nightingale Frontline Leadership Programme

While this wasn’t a research project, the Foundation felt that the themes arising from it were important and should be shared more widely.

In facilitated (socially distanced) workgroups, six forms of courage were highlighted – enacted by nurses and midwives at all levels of the organisation – which facilitated a move away from command and control and towards a more collective leadership.
